Nairobi’s Interior Minister Ole Lenku was fired by the president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday. The reason why the president fired Ole Lenku is because he did not seem to do his part during the Al Shabab attacks that have killed a lot of innocent people in Mandera.
Sources say that Mr. Ole Lenku was asked to give a detailed explanation of the actions he took to prevent the attacks but he was unable to do this. He was also required to say how he intended to improve his approach in order to prevent similar cases from happening in the future. It was evident that Ole Lenku was not collaborating with the rest in fighting crime.
The president who was heading a cabinet meeting was not impressed by this action. He fired Ole Lenku and replaced him with General Joseph Nkaissery with immediate effect.
