There have been a lot of controversies about the security amendment bill. On Thursday afternoon, a meeting was held that was meant to hold a discussion about the security amendment bill. However, the activities at the National Assembly were interrupted by some fights among the MPs. The bill is set to go for the third reading but CORD MPs oppose the passing of the bill unless some clauses were changed.

James Orengo, Johnstone Muthama, Elizabeth Ongoro, Moses Wetangula and Boni Khalwale had gone to support other members of the party in the opposition of the bill when they got attacked. This was followed by a disruption of the live feed and the media being blocked from accessing the press gallery. Johnstone Muthama seems to have taken a beating since he has visible wounds from the fight. However, Jubilee MPs, still hold on to the fact that the bill will be passed by the end of the day while the CORD MPs think otherwise. According to Secretary General Ababu Namwamba, the bill ought to be passed since such activity shows signs of dictatorship.
