Police have launched a search for the former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo after he was reported to have engaged in a shooting incident at the Arboretum Road-Nairobi yesterday.
The case surrounding the incident is yet to be clearly identified by police as rumors indicate that the politician tried to shoot another motorist as he was trying to offer him a helping hand on Friday. According to Peter Katam the Kilimani Police boss, Jirongo is said to have been involved in the shooting drama. He was trying to shoot James Njenga a recognized Nairobi business man. It is reported that the case has many other different versions and police are still investigating the matter. Njenga claims that he wanted to offer a helping hand but the former MP started shooting aimlessly.
The former MP vied for the Kakamega county senatorial post but was defeated by Bonny Khalwale in the 2013 general elections.
