Things don’t look good for embattled ugandan musician, Joseph Mayanja aka Chameleone. This is after police decided to reopen a case involving the death of 27-year-old Robert Karamagi. Robert died at Mulago Hospital after succumbing to injuries he had sustained at Chameleon’s home in Seguku. The case is mainly being reopened because of contradicting statements made by eyewitnesses and the Mayanja family (Chameleone’s crew).
According to the Kajjansi District Police Commander, Ibrahim Saiga, investigations are on course and the findings will be presented to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice. According to the father of the deceased, Karamagi had been doused, tortured, tied up and burnt by chameleon and his crew member’s.
On Thursday chameleon spent the better part of the day in police custody but was later released on a bond.
