Isaac Ruto who is the current Bomet governor plans to run for president in the 2017 elections. He has identified a team of elite professionals and confidants to evaluate his bid and advise him on his next step. Once the evaluation is done he will announce his plans to the public. In an interview held with The Star Newspaper, Isaac did not confirm or deny that he was in the race for the presidency come 2017.

Being a strong critic of the jubilee government and Deputy President William Ruto he feels like he will be in a better position to revitalize devolution. His bid for the presidency is likely to complicate matters for other presidential candidates in his tuff such as Kanu chairman Gideon Moi and Deputy President Ruto.
