Suspended energy cabinet secretary Davis Chirichir and Senator Mike sonko are one of the big shot politicians to have made it to the list of shame. However the reason for it is what is shocking. After the pipeline sage that left hundreds dead and scared for life, it seemed that it was only proper for guidelines and repairs to be put in place to ensure that it did not happen again. Regardless it seems the two decided to take a chance with Kenyan lives and play God by influencing the construction of new pipeline lines.

The 45 page report goes ahead and highlights how the two received what seems to be a 13 billion bribe. This bribe apparently was to influence awarding of tenders to a company called Sinopec instead of Zakhem. The report went on to state that Mr. Chirchir uses his office to ensure that he influences the awarding of ministry tenders to individual’s substandard companies and thus ensure that corrupt deals are successfully executed. However with both fanning innocence sonko made a bold decision of stepping aside to pave way for investigations. However he retaliated by stating;

The EACC chairman and CEO Halake Waqo should have mentioned themselves in the report and because they cannot investigate themselves they should also resign

With 54 days to the probe, Kenyans can’t wait for the outcome considering the fact that Sonko has been for weeks fighting Governor Kidero over graft claims.
