Nairobi Sentor Mike Sonko must be walking on cloud 9 just right about now. This is after his Rescue Team was called in to rescue President Uhuru Kenyatta’s limousine. The vehicle in question had broken down along Uhuru Highway causing a bit of a scene. This definitely means that he is in the president’s good books and Governor Evans Kidero should be aware of the tactical change in the dirty game. Last Friday, Kidero had ordered that all the vehicles in the Sonko Rescue Team be impounded due to lack of proper licenses. According to Kidero, Mike Sonko is contravening the law by providing his services parallel to those of the county government.
The broken-down limousine was later towed to a servicing garage that is located next to State House. Sources close to statehouse claim that the vehicle is no longer used by the president’s entourage and could be actioned since it is now un-roadworthy.
Currently Mike Sonko’s rescue team offers ambulance services, breakdown services, firefighting services, hearse services, wedding services and emergency air lifting services. Interestingly, all these services are free of charge.
