Well it seems that Kenyan rugby even at the county level is going places if the signed power deal between the officials and zuku TV is something to go by. After majority of Kenyans having faced a major TV blackout after the switch to the digital platform, most of the games happening on Kenyan grounds have not received air TV. To cater for this and actually get viewership, the Masaku sevens officials directed by former national sevens coach Benjamin Ayimba in a closed deal have announced that indeed Kenyans will get to enjoy the game on the upcoming dates of 3rd to 5th of July.
The tournament which is set to attract other countries has increased the winners price from sh. 500,000 to 2 million shillings. Teams expected to jet in include Norway, Argentina, France, Spain, Scotland, Ireland and Fiji. Considering the terrible condition that sports association in Kenya is in, this is a great stride to the right direction and the partnership with zuku will hopefully be the beginning to greatness of rugby at county levels.
