The consumer federation of Kenya secretary, Stephen Mutoro has issued a stun warning to suppliers against distributing Magii nodules to consumers. This comes after a research undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Food safety and Drug Administration based in India proved that this product contained impermissible levels of lead and therefore not safe for human consumption. He went ahead to inform them of legal measures that are likely to be taken against those who will not heed to directive given.
According to Mr. Mutoro, it is their responsibility to protect the lives of Kenyans and they cannot allow suppliers to sell poisonous goods to them. The secretary pledged with the Kenya Bureau of Standards to put sanctions over the supply of this product the country. He also asked other government parastatals including the Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya ports Authority and among others to support this move for the well-being of the consumers.
