This Is How The Chief Finance Officer For The Nairobi County Government Who Is Paid Ksh 85,000 Per Month Transacts Over 36 Million Kenya Shillings In His Personal Accounts Each Month

The stench of corruption in this country stinks to high heavens. For the last four months or so, the country has been treated to a whirlwind of events courtesy of corruption. The list of shame which President Kenyatta ordered to be investigated in 60 days has turned into a charade with MPs baying for the removal of DPP Keriako Tobiko after it emerged almost all the names in the list would be exonerated from corruption allegations. Now a chief finance officer for the Nairobi County government, a Mr. Jimmy Kiamba is the subject of an investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission for fraudulent transactions which have seen him lead an extravagant life for an 85 000 shilling salary.

The EACC is seeking a court order to freeze his assets and investigate claims that over sh. 400 million shillings have been transacted in his CFC Stanbic bank account between January and November 2014 when he has been in office. Mr. Kiamba has ostensibly established quite the empire since that period and it remains to be seen if his case will flop like all the others before it. A blogger this morning ranted on Facebook that City Hall has been the source of wealth for many of Nairobi’s tycoons whether directly or indirectly.
