The brazen attack by Al-Shabaab militia on a military camp in Lamu was captured on video. This came to the fore when British TV station first aired it before major channels like CNN got a hold of it. The attack which occurred two weeks ago nearly disrupted the one year anniversary memorial of the bloody Mpeketoni attacks which happened last year perpetrated by the same group. The video is said to have been captured by Thomas Evans, the fighter who was killed in the exchange of fire between the rag tag terror group and the Kenyan military.
The video films the Al-Shabaab raiders sneaking into the army compound before they are repulsed by heavy gunfire. The commander of the Somali terror group is heard mocking Kenyans, “Wakenya wanalia kama watoto wadogo.” When leading his charges.
On the previous day, they are seen to be chanting and getting ready for the attack. The unsuccessful attack claimed the lives of 11 jihadists and several police officers.
