Former NTV reporter Richard Chacha visited the scene of the accident which left him paralyzed. He took a bold step and returned to the place which is bound to hold painful memories for him. He was on assignment with PSCU director then KTN reporter Emmanuel Talaam, NTV’s Linus Kaikai among others when disaster struck. The whole nation waited with bated breath for the outcome of their ordeal and while the others escaped with minor injuries, Chacha was left paralysed. He got the will to continue with his job although on a light schedule before he left Nation Media Group.
He visited the accident scene along the Mai Mahiu- Narok road, a highway notorious for road accidents. He seemed to be calm and unmoved about returning to the point where his life took an unexpected twist. This is not common for most people who would prefer to forget the people and places where tragedy befell them. A good example is the teachers who have refused to return to North Eastern Kenya counties after the Mandera bus attack and the Garissa college debacle which left scores of Kenyans dead.
