Pastor Ng’ang’a crash story has been akin to a long running soap opera that has developed twists and turns the difference being that it is not particularly thrilling. The pastor is accused of dangerous driving which left a motorist dead. The circumstances surrounding the car crash have been dogged by claims of bribery involving the controversial pastor and police. For the aggrieved family of Mercy Njeri, justice may be around the corner when the DPP Keriako Tobiko revealed that there is evidence to prosecute the clergyman with causing death due to dangerous driving.
After thrashing out some gaps, the file will be presented to the DPP this week after a team comprising of police, Witness Protection Agency and prosecutors was constituted. Witnesses say they saw Ng’ang’a escaping the scene of the accident, a scenario the pastor vehemently denies. The IG Joseph Boinett was forced to open fresh investigations into the matter amid claims of bribery to silence the police. It is of interest that six police officers could be disciplined for trying to cover up the crime. Simon Kuria who feigned a neck injury to cover for the pastor will be charged for giving false information.
This should be a conclusive end to a long-winding story which Kenyans in the online space have refused to let go until justice is served.
