After weeks of debate over the conspiracy of Pastor James Ng’ang’a’s alleged involvement in the accident that caused the death of Mercy Njery on July 26th along the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway near Manguo, Limuru. The Director of Public Prosecution, Keriako Tobiko has now announced that the pastor will indeed be charged.
This comes after the pastor during an interview with Citizen TV’s news anchor, Hussein Mohammed denied all the accusations claiming that he was not around the accident scene awhen it happened, furthermore he denied any ownership of the Range Rover Sports Car that caused the accident. The controversial incident has also received a harsh response with the public calling on the government to charge the pastor.
It seems the public’s plea was not in vain. On Tuesday the DPP said that pastor James Ng’ang’a will face four charges in court. He will be charged with causing death through dangerous driving, obstruction of justice, failing to report an accident, and giving false information to the police.
Nevertheless, the DPP also reported that the pastor will face the music of the law along with other four suspects, including two police officers who earlier on had been reported to have tampered with police reports in Tigoni Police Station. They will be charged for obstruction of justice as well.
