What is exactly going on in our media stations? The radio and TV fraternity has seen mass exits of popular presenters and anchors raising questions of what is cutting in the media industry. No sooner had news of Sanaipei Tande and a host of radio presenters at Nation Fm than Kamene Goro at EBRU Africa called it quits. The voluptuous news anchor will no longer be at the station effective from today. She follows Joey Muthengi of Sugar and Spice and Michelle Morgan out the door. A source at the station confirmed her exit divulging that remuneration issues were the bone of contention. EBRU Africa has effectively lost its most glamourous presenter who had brought mainstream viewers to the station.
The media circus could be set to continue with the throes of digital migration beginning to pinch stations hard. Given Kamene’s status, it would be no surprise to see the high flying anchor in another TV station in the coming months.
