A woman accused of plotting to kill her husband over wealth will remain behind bars for ten days as police continue with their investigations. Ms Rose Adhiambo in collaboration with her house help Ms Doris Akinyi hired unknown men from Kisumu to kill her husband Mr. Polycarp Ouma, a wealthy businessperson from Mombasa.

During a court hearing, police Constable Dominic Kiptum told the jury that the suspected criminals had hacked a plan to kill Mr. Ouma between October 20 and 26 this year. He went further to allege that Mr. Ouma found the “Love of her life” at Kenya Commercial Bank, Naivas Branch in Nyali withdrawing Sh. 1.2 million meant to pay the hitmen before they could do their job. The police arrested the accused at the bank as she was trying to reach the assassins. Apparently, it was not the first time Ms. Doris wanted to take away the life of her husband as he claimed that she had tried to poison him some time back. Because of the gravity of the matter, the court had to suspend the case to allow for further investigation.
