Everybody knows that when it comes to being accosted by robbers the best thing is to comply with every demand especially if the robbers have a gun. However this may not be the case if you panic or if you are overcome with fear. On May 28th at around 7.30pm, everything changed for Jane in the hands of a robber in Kariobangi south. The robber who seemed eager to get money from her phone, threatened her with a gun. However due to fear, she accidentally mumbled some random numbers as her MPESA pin. When the robber could not access the cash he quickly drew his gun and shot her through the chest leaving her for dead.
Jane was quickly rushed to hospital where she underwent a number of surgeries, unfortunately doctors could not save her walking ability. Her nerves had been severely damaged. She is now paralyzed and can no longer do some simple daily tasks such as wash herself. However, since the bullet missed her spine by a millimeter, there is still hope for recovery. With lack of funds and a dull future ahead, friends and family have chipped in to ensure that she gets her life back on track. She is now calling on all Kenyans for help. The M-pesa pay bill number through which one can donate is 596018 or Equity Bank Acc no. 1450164274483 under the name Jane Mwangi Medical Fund.
