The organizers of the Project X Party say that it will go on despite the public outcry and being put on notice by the police. The party which is scheduled for March 12th at an undisclosed location in Kileleshwa, promises a night of booze and drug-induced debauchery terming it the ‘one night to lose your mind.’ As expected, the public is up in arms about the party led by Isaac Mwaura, the nominated MP for Special Interest Groups, who took to his social media pages to speak out against the party and urge Kenyans to relay any pertinent information to the police to help them crack down on the party. The CEO of the Kenya Film Classification, Ezekiel Mutua, has also added his voice to those opposing the party saying it was unacceptable.

Posters advertising the party which went viral on social media are responsible for the angst being witnessed even though not everyone is against it. With activities like taxi and crocking and slogans like “no one goes back home a virgin”, “one night to lose your mind” and “everything goes” alongside pictures of semi-nude girls grinding on each other or getting stoned, it is no surprise that the party has become the talk of the town before it even goes down.
