If you haven’t been hiding in a cave somewhere then you probably know that USIU has been having some land issues. In fact, they even held a protest on Tuesday that included the Vice Chancellor, professors, students and even some alumni. Manu Chandaria and even outspoken protesters like Boniface Mwangi joined the cause and marched from USIU to Muthaiga Police Station.
The entire protest was orderly unlike what we’ve witnessed with other universities.
Apparently, the land grabber in question this time around is retired president Daniel Arap Moi. USIU Vice Chancellor Paul Tiyambe Zeleza made public some documents that indicated that the former president had purchased the land some time back. The documents also showed the former president’s ID is registered as 0000001.
Following this revelation Kenyans took to twitter as usual to share their views.
Here are some reactions to the revelation.
