“Equity Bank Ceo James Mwangi Sexually Harassed Me” Says Esther Passaris

Esther Passaris has claimed that the Equity Bank CEO James Mwangi sexually assaulted her. She commented on a link by the STAR newspaper that was addressing the parliamentary bill outlining that bank CEO’s flouting bank interest rates shall be put behind bars. According to the bill, bank CEO shall be jailed for a period of note less than one year when found guilty of the offence. The bill was sponsored by Jude Njomo, Kiambu Member of parliament. Passaris alleged that Equity bank has been levying charges and does not reverse them. “Start with @KeEquityBank who levy hidden charges & refuses to reverse the same. Also find ways to address sexual harassment.” Posted Passaris.

“A person shall not enter into an agreement or arrangement to borrow or lend directly or indirectly at an interest rate in excess of that approved by law…a bank or financial institution that contravenes the provision commits an offence and shall be liable to a fine of not less than one million shillings. …in breach, the CEO shall be imprisoned for a term not less than one year,” states the bill. The claims have attracted different reactions among leaders in the nation. We will have to wait and see how this will play out after some times.
