This Is Probably What You Didn’t Know About The Rongai Killer Matatu Driver And What Happened On That Fateful Sunday

The matatu driver who was driving the Ongata Line Sacco matatu that killed 5 people in a road accident has been released on a Ksh1 million bond.

Francis Mukuria Kinyanjui also known by his street name Ambulance is however going to stay in police custody for a period of 14 days as investigations continue. According to the magistrate, despite the fact that the accident caused so much outrage from Kenyans, the accused cannot be denied the right to a constitutional bond.

Last week on Tuesday, the students of Multimedia University blocked Magadi Road to protest after a first year student by the name Cynthia Akoth who died from injuries resulting from an accident caused by the vehicle. Cynthia had been admitted to the university in September and was taking a degree in applied communication. The university’s student association president said that the protest was in support of road safety.

Following the accident, NTSA revoked more than 100 matatu’s licences which forced commuters to trek to their destinations
