According to an article published in one of the local newspapers, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is planning to implement a new form of punishment for drunk drivers. If the new form of punishment is implemented, notorious drunk drivers will be forced to work in morgues for a number of hours. According to NTSA Director General Francis Meja, the current penalties are too lenient and are failing to lower the number of DUI (driving under the influence) cases. Once the new policy is read it may become a law in the near future.
Kenyans on twitter welcomed the move, saying that it will curb the growing vice and ensure drivers become more vigilant on the road. Here are some of the comments some users posted on twitter.

Drunk drivers always say "gari inajua njia" then go all feet deep on the gas. Now @ntsa_kenya formulates that drunk drivers to work on morgues.
I've been to public morgues on several occasions & scene of bodies esp from accident scenes will work your spine. pic.twitter.com/mPTTen6Fax

I can assure NTSA that if they arrest drunk drivers, drive them to City mortuary, lock them in there till morning, drunk driving would reduce by 99% in 2 weeks.
