The 2017 KCPE results are out. They were released on Tuesday morning at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Nairobi. Interestingly, there was no single irregularity that was reported, meaning all 1,003,556 candidates who sat for the exams will receive their results. 9,846 candidates out of the 1,003,556 scored 400 marks and above and the top candidate from a private school scored 455 out of 500.
According to Dr Matiang’i public schools also fared well in the exams producing the second best candidate in the country. Unfortunately, 2,360 candidates performed poorly and were unable to score above 100 marks. Form one selection is set to begin on December 4, 2017.
Parents and guardians who would like to receive the results via SMS can do so by sending their candidate’s index number to the code 22252 or via the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) website.
