Nasa torch bearer is ready to take the bullet and eve die if that is what the jubilee government is hellbent on achieving. Speaking at a fundraiser aimed at meeting funeral expenses of those killed on November 17th, Raila demanded that the police should stop killing young innocent people with families which they support.
““If Raila is the problem, arrest him… arrest him. Take him to prison… take him to jail. And if you want to shoot, shoot Raila! Kill him… kill him. But then don’t kill these young precious lives,” Raila Odinga said.
Raila’s November 17th return from the US saw a number of young lives being lost. Bullets, teargas and water cannons were the order of the day as NASA supporters defied a ban that had been issued on receiving the opposition leader at JKIA.
In his statement he also accused the government of instituting state-sponsored killings and use of brutal force to repulse supporters. On Friday, Nasa purchased a full-page newspaper advert to mourn 26 people who were victims of police brutality. Here is the post in case you didn’t get to see it.
According to MP Millie Odhiambo, 54 people have been killed in recent clashes between NASA supporters and police.
