A high number of diplomats are expected to visit the country for president Uhuru’s inauguration on Tuesday therefore a number of roads with be closed for security purposes. According to Nairobi County Commander Japheth Koome, Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Thika Road will be marked as “red zones” and will have lots of reinforcements. Motorists will be unable to access these roads during certain periods of the day next week.
Additionally, Koome declared NASA’s planned memorial service at Jacaranda grounds on Tuesday, November 28 illegal.
Motorists are also advised to avoid Ngong, Langata and Valley roads because of the Standard Chartered Marathon that will be held on 26th November. Security will be beefed up during the event to ensure the safety of the participants.
