Over the weekend Nairobi, Governor Mike sonko came to the rescue of Mashimoni Primary School Kibra boy, Micheal Amuka, who scored 427 marks in this years KCPE. Sonko offered to pay the boys school fees and carter for the boy’s shopping needs throughout his secondary education. That was not all, Michael’s mother also received a gift from Sonko. She was offered KSH100,000 to start a business of her choice.
Michael’s mother who is a widow had been washing peoples’ clothes to help raise her son’s school fees. Her son’s story had been highlighted on a Local TV station before it came to the attention of the philanthropic Governor.
Micheal and his mom will have to present a secondary school letter to the governor’s office in order to receive a check for the school fees.
