Embakasi East MP Babu Owino became the latest lawmaker to fall victim of cybercrime after he engaged in an argument with a fake social media user under the name of his Starehe Charles Jaguar Kanyi. The controversial legislator tweeted that he intends to pay secondary fees for the best three students in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) from his constituency. The politician also said that he will make sure that other best performers benefit from Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
The impostor through the fake account, however, reminded Babu to concentrate on assisting poor students. In his defense, Babu said that the poor students stand to benefit from the CDF funds. Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) were left in disbelief considering the fact that the two lawmakers had differed bitterly at the parliamentary buildings. Jaguar asked Babu to respect President Uhuru Kenyatta after the latter said that National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga is his head of state.
